The rope

چکیده
We are aware that all information published by each issue of this journal needs the squeeze and sweat of thousands of people. On one end of the rope, researchers and higher education institutions work hard to produce science to the highest degree of excellence. On the other end, reviewers silently filter manuscripts, thus improving the quality and accuracy of information that has been approved. Science is tough, as it tests and audits one’s dreams. But both ends of the rope face the same direction. On our 19th anniversary, we had to thank publicly everyone who contributed to the significant growth of this journal, especially in the last few years: researchers, reviewers and higher education institutions which believed in building a Brazilian scientific journal to excellence. The idea is not to stretch the rope, so as to create competition; but strengthen it while acknowledging all contributors’ competence and thanking them for their support which is key to the development of this journal. And we did so at the 10th Congress of Associação Brasileira de Ortodontia (Brazilian Association of Orthodontics– ABOR) held in Florianópolis / Santa Catarina, Brazil. At the event, we disclosed information about the last three years of the journal, reporting the participation of more than 70 higher education institutions — from Brazil, United States, Canada, Italy, England, Colombia, Syria, Turkey and Pakistan — which believed in Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics (DPJO)’s credibility. We assessed the journal’s data and reported the top ten most active institutions, all of which were Brazilian: University of São Paulo (USP)/ Bauru School of Dentistry (FOB-USP), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), State University of São Paulo (UNESP)/ Araraquara, State University of Maringá (UEM), State University of Southwestern Bahia (UESB), Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Ingá College (UNINGÁ), University of São Paulo (USP)/ School of Dentistry, State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). All of them are acknowledged for their hard work in graduate and/or undergraduate education, and trust in our journal’s earnest and quality. We also reported the most productive authors published in DPJO. A total of 758 researchers from dozens of countries, among which some of the most important researchers of worldwide Orthodontics contributed effusively: Guilherme Janson (FOB-USP), Antonio Carlos Ruellas (UFRJ), Karina Salvatore de

The Effect of Eight Weeks of Rope and Elastic Trainings on Physical Fitness of Student Children
Introduction: Physical activity and having a decent level of physical fitness for all ages are recommended. However, it is not clear which exercise program has more favorable effects during childhood. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a rope and elastic training course on physical fitness in elementary school student’s girls. Method: In this semi-experimental study, 30 girl’s ...
متن کاملEffective Mechanical Properties of Nanocomposites Reinforced With Carbon Nanotubes Bundle
Nanocomposites made of Carbon Nanotube (CNT) bundles have attracted researchers’ attention due to their unusual properties such as: light weight, flexibility and stiffness. In this paper, the effects of straight and rope-shaped bundles on nanocomposite effective mechanical properties are investigated. First, FEA models are created consisting of CNTs with different shapes of straight and rope-...
متن کاملImproving for Drum_Buffer_Rope material flow management with attention to second bottlenecks and free goods in a job shop environment
Drum–Buffer–Rope is a theory of constraints production planning methodology that operates by developing a schedule for the system’s first bottleneck. The first bottleneck is the bottleneck with the highest utilization. In the theory of constraints, any job that is not processed at the first bottleneck is referred to as a free good. Free goods do not use capacity at the first bottleneck, so very...
متن کاملRope Skipping Motion Recognition System Using Kinect
Rope skipping is an effective way of training. In this study, we concentrated on the rope skipping exercise of using the equipment without a rope which is called “air jump rope”. We have developed a system for recognizing the rotational motion of the rope skipping exercise. The system analyses a motion of jumping rope using the moving image processing using the IR camera of Microsoft Kinect. By...
متن کاملComparing the Effects of Eight Weeks of Whole Body Vibration Exercise Combined With Rope Skipping at two Different Intensities on Physical Performance of Older Men: A Randomized Single-Blind Clinical Trial
Objectives: Whole-Body Vibration (WBV) exercise seems to be an effective alternative to improve physical performance in the elderly. This study aims to compare the effects of eight weeks of WBV exercise combined with rope skipping at two different intensities on physical performance of older men. Methods & Materials: This is a randomized single-blind clinical trial. Participants were 30 older ...
متن کاملDo the Legs of Magnetic Clouds Contain Twisted Flux-rope Magnetic Fields?
Magnetic clouds (MCs) are a subset of interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) characterized primarily by a smooth rotation in the magnetic field direction indicative of the presence of a magnetic flux rope. Energetic particle signatures suggest MC flux ropes remain magnetically connected to the Sun at both ends, leading to widely used model of global MC structure as an extended flux rope,...
